Summertime & Simple Things (free printables!!)

For 9 months out of the year, I spend the majority of my days in a classroom with 12-13 year olds. I love my job, but come May and the countdown to summer I get giddy with excitement. I think working all those months makes summer all the sweeter for me. In our family, we enjoy having lots of BBQs in our backyard, spending time on the lake, and taking walks as a family in the evenings. We love family reunions and just soaking up the sun. I tried to capture the magic of summer and all those feelings in this subway art print.
I purchased this frame and then rotate out the subway art prints as I change my seasonal decor. If you are looking for a great gift idea--giving someone a frame and subway art gift pack is a gift that will keep giving all year!

I thought this print went perfectly with my feelings on summer (and life in general). I'm a firm believer that it is the small, tiny moments that make up a wonderful life. You don't need grand gestures or the appearance of perfection to just enjoy yourself and appreciate what life has to offer. I hope we all remember this. Do you know someone who could use this quote? It prints in a variety of a sizes and is perfect as part of a card or a neighbor gift.

Two Freebie Printables, No Foolin'!

Living in Utah, one of my favorite places is Temple Square in Salt Lake City. There are so many free, fun things to do and see. Just looking at the temple itself is beautiful with its style and architecture. In the LDS church there is an organization especially for young women. Each year there is a theme and activities for the young women are based around this theme. In 2013 the theme is "Stand Ye In Holy Places and Be Not Moved" There are many places that can be considered holy. Our homes can be a safe haven from the world; of course we want church to be considered a holy place--a place where we can come and worship as we please and feel uplifted. And in our faith, we believe the holiest place is the temple. These are sacred places and even just walking around the temple grounds, you can feel the spirit that testifies to you that this is a special place. I recently visited Temple Square and took this picture of the doors to the temple. Isn't the detail work beautiful? I decide to make a printable from this picture to go with the Young Women theme.

And I don't know about where you are, but we have been getting hit with some major spring showers lately. As long as it doesn't turn into snow, I won't complain too much :) Perhaps my longing for the sun inspired this month's freebie printable.  I love this quote. When I just think about my face basking in the warm sunlight, I feel uplifted and more positive about the day. I hope we can remember to stay positive, no matter what our trials and circumstances are. Do you know someone who needs to hear this quote? Print a small version, bake some lemon bars or other "spring"-time treat and it will make the perfect pick me up!

February Freebie is Here! 3 Printables!

February is my favorite month of the year. My son was born in February, it's also my birthday,Valentine's Day and spring is just around the corner. So many fun occasions jammed into this short month! This calls for some fun, new freebie printables.

First, I have seen these "I Love You Because" signs all over pinterest. Did you know that people actually charge money for these?! Now, you can print one here for free. Just print as an 8x10 or 5x7, and put inside a glass frame or even a sheet protector. Then, use a dry erase marker to finish the sentence. I think this is such a cute idea and a fun way to keep love alive all year.

If you are looking for a more traditional Valentine's print to use for a card or to display in your home, look no further! I love the look of holiday subway art printed as an 8x10 and displayed in a matted frame. It's the perfect accent to your other holiday decor. And this time of year, when outside is so gray and dreary, a splash of color to brighten up your home can do a world of good!

Finally, like I said earlier, my son's and my own birthday is in February, so to celebrate, here is another subway art print to display, or print to use as card for your own special occasion.

Happy 2013! January Freebie Printables!

Happy 2013!  Wishing you a wonderful year full of life, love, and much happiness!

At this point in my life, it seems like all my friends are having babies. I am constantly buying baby gifts and ooohing and aaahing over all the cute baby accessories. And it always seems like, without fail, I am off to the baby shower or to deliver my gift and I realize that I have forgotten a card. RATS! Normally, I wouldn't care so much, but I loved keeping the cards from all the baby gifts I received for my kids. So instead of always going without, or hastily writing a note on piece of paper, I decided I should just have some cards up my sleeve for just an emergency as this.

These cards are formatted to be printed on a standard-sized piece of paper. For best results, print on card stock but in a pinch, regular paper will work just fine. Just fold your paper in half and there you go--a cute card for the new mom! After doing these cards, I was inspired for so many other designs and prints for cards of all occasions, so you definitely haven't seen the last of my printable cards!
